Knock Shrine: Nominate your Parish Hero!

Recognising parish heroes!

If you know someone who deserves recognition for the things they have done, Knock Shrine wants to hear about it; to celebrate the kindness and generosity of ordinary people doing extraordinary things.

It’s amazing how one seemingly small act of kindness can make a dramatic impact on a person’s life. Many people have been helped and touched by acts of selfless generosity all over the country and beyond since the pandemic started last February. Knock Shrine wishes to acknowledge and recognise  people who have contributed and are contributing to the life of their parish over the course of the pandemic.

If you know someone who deserves recognition for the things they have done, let Knock Shrine know! Knock wants to celebrate the kindness and generosity of ordinary people doing extraordinary things.

Winners will receive a gift of appreciation from Knock Shrine, our National Marian Shrine, and they will be acknowledged on 19 December 2020 at the “Carols by Candlelight” service in Knock Basilica.

In recognising those unsung heroes who continue to build faith in our parish communities in these challenging times, Knock Shrine invites applications from all parishes throughout the island of Ireland.

There are countless reasons to nominate your parish hero:

  1. Someone that is going above and beyond to support and sustain the vulnerable in our parishes in these difficult times.
  2. Someone who is making a difference to your faith in parish community life.
  3. Someone responsible for a heart-warming act of kindness.

Submit your online nomination here.

The closing date for nominations is Friday, 4 December 2020 at 5.00pm.
