Uplifting Diocese of Galway, Kilmacduagh and Kilfenora Pilgrimage to Lourdes 2025 comes to a close.
Led by Bishop Michael, over 150 Pilgrims took part over the last five days in various events and prayer moments at the Shrine of our Lady of Lourdes. Pilgrims celebrated a ceremony of anointing of the sick, reconciliation and healing, the beautiful water ceremony at the Baths, Holy Hour and Rosary. Each day they had the opportunity of joining in the Eucharistic Procession and the moving Torch Light Procession. Perhaps the highlight of the time in Lourdes was Friday morning Mass at the Grotto and the International Mass with thousands of fellow pilgrims from all over the world on Sunday. We give thanks to God for the wonderful experience and the graces received.
“We have come here to that place where through Mary heaven reached down to earth. It is a place where heaven continues to reach out to embrace our human lives, especially where sickness, brokenness and pain abounds. Each one has come here to Lourdes with their own intentions. We have brought the intentions of family, neighbours, friends and indeed the whole diocese. We offer them through Mary to God here and we pray that God, in his own way and in his own time, will reach out to us in his love. A love that eventually makes all things right, cures all ills and gathers us to itself.” - Bishop Michael
