Following on the Taoiseach's directive on 12 March, Bishop Brendan Kelly has instructed that all public Masses in this diocese, Sundays and weekdays, are suspended until 29 March or until further notice.

The 40th anniversary of the visit to Galway of Pope John Paul II will be marked with a mass in the Cathedral on Sunday 29 September 2019 at 3:00pm.

The ecumenical service on Saturday 1 February in Galway Cathedral with Bishop Brendan Kelly, Bishop Patrick Rooke, Rev. Lynda Peilow and Rev. Helen Freeburn was a peaceful and uplifting service.
